Music Project Collaboration: Musicollaborate news

What's new?
Well I tried to install a new audio system which had lots of lovely new features, but it wasn't working fully so I had to roll-back to the previous version. It works just great, but I will be looking to try that again when it is a bit more fully developed.

Mp3 or ogg?

I am asking from a functionality standpoint.

Online music collaboration needs to be as easy to share files and communicate as possible. So lets have a look at some of the pros and cons of both compression formats:

PROS

MP3 OGG

horn section

In the middle of producing a sound with my original stuff. Really love the sound of trumpet, baritone sax and alto sax together. (Ike and Tina Turners Proud Mary would be an example.) Would love to find some horn players to put down some tracks on some of my songs. Got my kids involved in NY (drums and guitar). I write the songs - sing and play rhythm.

Getting there!

The site has taken a lot of work and few updates to get to where it is now. But I think it is nearly complete. just a few tweaks here and there, but I will find that out when people start collaborating on their music projects.

Competitions are in place and I will be looking for ideas and sponsors so that prizes can be given.

The visitors are up to over 300 per day and the membership is over 4000.

But what do they do? 300 visitors... apparently nothing!

Site of the week!

On the many hours I spend online each week, I thought it would be good to share with you some of the best sites I have seen.

This site should fall into the 'Funny' category.

It is called 'Angry Alien Productions' and features a collection of 30 second theatre productions of the Hollywood blockbusters... performed by bunnies!

Here is the Wiki entry for the 'bunnies'

All the trimmings

It is hard work and often I think it is all hard work for nothing. What has musicollaborate got that the other big online collaboration sites doesn't have? ... nothing!

What do they have that music collaborate doesn't? ...activity!

So lets look at the good, bad and ugly points.
The Good;
Musicollaborate has been around for 3 years and so has many visitors as it has built a steady relationship with the big search engines.
It is a trusted site, nobody thinks that I am trying to steal your money.
It has a sturdy communication framework in place.

Massive music collaboration potential online

You have music, you have people, bring them together and what have you got? ...a lot of music and a lot of people.

My music collaboration site is an attempt to bring musicians and songwriters together to create something more than just a lot of music and a lot of people.
