Yes this first lyrical competition is a challenging one!
You must write a song with the phrase "Yellow Lemon" in the chorus.
You can do what you like, but I am sure that submitted recordings of the finished song will atract more votes.

My chorus
I have only come up with a chorus but here it is...
He compared me to a yellow lemon
He said I was sour
I turned my back and walked away
Kept walking for an hour
If I’m a lemon then I’m fully ripe
I’ve left all my roots
Yeah I’ve left them all behind
Never mind what he said to me
He’s living in a dream not reality
If it was reality then he’d have stood up for me
His friends they were judging me
They don’t even know me
And still they’re judging me
I remember lying in the grass
Laughin' at what he said sayin' yellow lemon my…
You can guess how that ends lol.
Any thoughts?

You might be asking if someone can enter their own competition... of course I can! I made the rules 8)
Anyway it will eventually be decided according to member votes and currently my vote will be going to someone else.
Enjoy
Yellow lemon
I was speculating as to what I would try to write
I haven't listened to yours yet
A bit what
Nick,
Thank you for your comments. It's certainly flattering to be compared with Lennon or the Beatles.
What did you mean by "a bit though". A bit what?
Thanks again,
Leo
Yellow lemon
I'm definately feeling an upbeat lennon-beatles "nonsense" song for this
like obladi oblada kind of a feel
it might be a bit though

Go Buy Some Lemons
The story:
,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º
A woman moves into a new apartment. It's full of promise and hope. She paints and decorates and imagines all good things.
A potted lemon tree sits in full sun. She bought it special at the market and imagined it ripe with lemons. Big juicy yellow lemons.
She waits.
The years pass and still she imagines yellow lemons on her lemon tree like she does children in her picture frames.
,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º
The moral: Quit waiting around.
Whadya think?
