Mp3 or ogg?

I am asking from a functionality standpoint.

Online music project collaboration needs to be as easy to share files and communicate as possible. So lets have a look at some of the advantages and disadvantages of both compression formats:

ADVANTAGES

MP3 OGG
  • MP3 is a well accepted format for the web.
  • MP3 is an OK compression format.
  • Most music softwares can export audio as MP3
  • OGG is better quality.
  • OGG is a smaller file size.
  • ERGO - the same quality music will take less space.
  • DISADVANTAGES

    MP3 OGG
  • MP3 puts a gap at the front of the file.
  • MP3 quality is not really suitable for project collaboration.
  • OGG will not play on this website - yet!
  • People don't like to download things they are not familiar with.
  • People should not have to choose. They should use both. Upload the mp3 version of their track and then use the Attached audio files
    Existing audio file:
field to attach an OGG version of the track.

    What do you think?
